My daughter and son took Bija's summer camp in Summer 2011. She is 3 years old (barely) and looked forward to it for each of the 4 weeks we went. My 5 year old son actually cried when I told him that camp was over for the summer. They do a free play in the morning, an arts and crafts, field trip to sprinkler or playground, lunch, resting time, yoga and then pick up. It's a nice mellow day and the counselors are on top of the kids (in a good way) to share and get along. It's always pretty peaceful when I am there. They do learn the routine of taking off their shoes, putting their lunch bags in the bin, coming in to say "hello" and getting right down to playing. There is a nice mix of ages. My daughter was definitely the youngest and the oldest was 10 years old- and she was fabulous b/c all the younger ones loved her. Quite a few were 5 years and older. My son liked having the older kids there too as they helped him learn how to do playground games and board games that they had at the camp. In addition, both my kids loved the yoga practice and I think it helped them think of yoga as a daily practice which I like. The counselors were good and seemed very able to handle conflict, personalities and maintain a collaborative and calm environment. My only wish is that I had had some more communication with the counselors at pick up. I didn't get much feedback from them about my kids' day.
