(BFS) is an independent, college preparatory Quaker school serving a culturally diverse educational community of approximately 600 students, ages 20 months through 12th grade. Founded in 1867 by The Brooklyn Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends, BFS is guided by the ideals of acceptance, compassion, equality and non-violence. Friends serves age 2 and up. They have extended care including the Family Care Center for young children and after-school classes and Early Bird Dropoff. They have a very nice rooftop playground with a fantastic jungle gym.They also have an indoor gym with basketball nets and bleachers. Additional points of interest: a carpenters shop for ages Kindergarten and up, a clay studio, an art studio, and lower school students mentor the 2???s and 3???s once a week.
