Audition Intensive: Performing Arts High Schools
Gaining admission to the acting programs requires careful selection of monologues, thorough rehearsing, and preparation for the rigor of the audition.
Basic Acting & Improvisation
(Grades 4-6, 6-8 and 9-12) These age appropriate classes are a combination of improvisations, theater games and scene study.
The Play???s the Thing
(Grades 8 and up) Rehearse and perform a specific comedy to be determined. Possible authors include Moliere, Wilde, James Barrie and Jean Anouilh.
Ezra Barnes is a teacher, actor, and director. He has performed Off-Broadway, has been featured on Law & Order and in films (Fox Searchlight???s Joshua and the upcoming Once More With Feeling). He is Artistic Director of Shakespeare on the Sound in Norwalk, CT. A longtime Brooklyn resident and parent, Ezra has taught theater for young people at Poly Prep and Saint Ann???s School, the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, and Piper Productions.
